Customers can’t take advantage of what they don’t know about! Both small and large businesses typically run some sort of promotion following Thanksgiving day and it’s important to communicate your gameplan to your community! If you’re opening your doors early on Black Friday, make sure your social media and Google Business listing say exactly when you’re opening! If you’re participating in Small Business Saturday, there may be an opportunity to share this in your local newspaper or join with other local businesses to create a guide of stores to visit! And if you have an e-commerce store, ensure everyone knows the discount code to use on Cyber Monday and exactly what it applies to! People receive an influx of email during this time of year, so it’s especially important to be clear in your communication.
Offer Gift Cards
To make holiday shopping easy for your customers, offer store-branded gift cards and perhaps a nice card holder to go with it! Always offer shoppers assistance in finding the ideal gift, but let those overwhelmed by their Christmas list know that a gift card is a great option too! Reward Customer Loyalty
To those who frequent your small business — let them know their loyalty is appreciated! This can be done by mailing out a gift with purchase offer or sending a special discount to your email list. Or, you could even hold private shopping hours for some of your best customers — complete with Christmas cookies and adult beverages! The point is to acknowledge how stressful this time of year can be and let your community know that you appreciate their business and are here to help with all of their holiday shopping needs!
